In the steady and sensible air of adulthood, I could not ignore the thought of learning to weave. On a whim, I bought a 60-inch loom, took a workshop at the Sitka Center on the Oregon coast and enrolled in studio classes at the Oregon College of Art and Craft. I am still learning, still taking workshops and still making mistakes (learning experiences), even though I now have over 20 years of weaving behind me.
I have not yet found the one weaving technique that suits me best. So many techniques….so little time. I’m on a journey, not always a straight one, but one that fills me with joy. A journey that lets me touch and feel beautiful fiber. A journey that soothes my soul. A journey that sings with the rhythm of the loom turning yarn into cloth.
