My approach to painting is instinctive and is fueled by connection with nature, music, instinct, spirituality. Silk painting lends itself well to the intuitive. You can’t erase anything, so you have to move forward freehand and trust the process. I draw inspiration from the outdoors and the free, happy feeling that comes from just being in the forest, drinking tea and feeling the life around me. I enjoy experimenting with function, and paint wall art, scarves, necklaces and altar cloths.

I am a self-taught artist, having restructured my life to put art at the forefront some years ago. I take part in art fairs and festivals around the Pacific Northwest, show my work in galleries as well as online. I was born in Mississippi, grew up in Central Illinois, and now reside in Oregon where I pursue painting full time.
