This month in the gallery we feature paintings on silk by Cheryl Cameron, oils by Anne Ferguson and semi-precious stone jewelry set in silver by Becky Gravenmier. Our annual Ornament Tree returns this month with a fresh crop of handmade ornaments to harvest for your own tree trimming.

Our studios will be open and the classroom with be a warm and cozy place to sip some wine and have a bite while viewing the new exhibition. Join us for a festive First Tuesday in Downtown Hillsboro!

Eliat Avivi and Elina Zebergs

Sequoia Members Eliat Avivi and Elina Zebergs were chosen to join a group of local artists to create a mural for Downtown Hillsboro. Each artist was free to interprete the theme of "Hillsboro Happy Days" in their own way. The mural is installed on the side of Joe's Pasttime Tavern on Main Street in Downtown Hillsboro. The project, which was funded by the Tuesday Night Market in Downtown Hillsboro, was unveiled at a public reception on October 10th.

Cheryl Cameron

Congratulations to Sequoia member and fiber artist Cheryl Cameron for winning the Best in Fiber Medium Award at the Corvallis Fall Festival held Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23. Cheryl has attended the festival for the past three years. This is her second time winnning an award at the Festival. To see Cheryl's work in person, attend our November First Tuesday Artists' Reception where Cheryl will be a featured artist displaying her beautiful paintings on silk.

Sequoia Gallery + Studios has joined the directory for the fabulous new website, Tualatin Valley Creates!
The website, formerly known as the Westside Cultural Alliance, aspires to connect our diverse community " to the heart and soul of Washington County through arts, culture, heritage and the humanities". We at Sequoia love having a new online hub for arts and culture in Washington County. Check out the website and our Sequoia lisitng here!


Sequoia is seeking artists for gallery membership. Both 2D and 3D artists of all mediums are welcome to apply for membership in our active community of artists. Download an application from our website or stop by the gallery to pick up an application.

Whether you are an artist, collector, or someone who just appreciates fine art, you can help Sequoia by volunteering to help staff the gallery. Gallery staffers serve 4 hour shifts on the days of their choosing, depending on slots available. Volunteer applications are available online or at the gallery.
