Laura Wilson fell in love with painting watercolor all at once 20 years ago on a trip to her home state of California. Overlooking a view of palm trees and water with brush in hand and her teacher (uncle, David Starrett) by her side, she began the journey of discovering washes and the delight of transparent pigments mixing on wet paper. She’s studied in various locations with the late Milford Zorns, and Zoltan Szabo, and often travels to meet up with pastel artist and international artist workshop leader Margaret Evans. Laura says some of her favorite days have been plein air painting with artists friends in the interesting cities of the world, but those joys are also available at home in Beaverton and Cannon Beach with her two greyhounds and her husband Monte. She joined Sequoia in January of 2017.
