#225, Beginning Alcohol Inks with Sue Swain
June 16, Sat
10 am – 12 pm
Got an itch to try painting with vibrant colors that will make your eyes light up and say, “Howdy”?
Maybe you’ve never heard of alcohol ink, or perhaps you have seen it and have wanted to explore this fairly new medium to add it to your art tool box? Perhaps you have walked around Sequoia Gallery and have been drawn to the brilliant colors of one of Sue Swain’s art pieces and have said, “I can do that!” Well, now’s your chance to have a taste playing with alcohol inks. You don’t have to be an artist at all!
Beginning Alcohol Ink is a popular workshop that will allow you to explore painting with ink and 91% alcohol on various substrates (surfaces) that will be provided. It’s relaxing and enjoyable to watch the ink morph into something totally different from what you anticipated. You will tap into the intuitive side of your brain that you’ve put aside or perhaps not known was there, and leave with a memory, pleased with what YOU have created. Who knows, this class might reveal that YOU really are an “artist.” It might even encourage you to take steps to develop as an ink artist. or just plain have fun creating in the luxury of your own home.
All supplies will be provided.
We will be working with a dye, so please dress for the mess, just in case.
Please bring a snack just in case you need to nibble. Sue’s teaching experience has shown that most people are so enamored by what they are creating that they just don’t want to stop and eat. But we will have a break.
