#218, Color Mixing for Painters with Sarah Sedwick

#218, Color Mixing for Painters with Sarah Sedwick

June 9, 10 -Sat, Sun
9 am – 4 pm

Paint looser and bring more realism to your paintings at the same time during this workshop with Eugene oil painter Sarah Sedwick. End color confusion, and take a simpler approach to paint mixing and palette organization.

We begin with value – the dark and light relationships between objects – which is the essence of realistic painting. Working in black and white is also a great way to focus on fundamentals.  We’ll talk about complementary colors and learn how color temperature affects our paintings. Then we will move on to a three-primary color palette, mixing up a full spectrum from three tubes of paint! Working with a limited palette has many benefits, and can be applied to portrait, still life, landscape – or any kind of painting you want to do!

This workshop is still life based, and instruction will be in oils, though acrylics are more than welcome.
